Dada opened on 19th September 1979, always playing independent kinds of music mainly from the rock scene and more. In fact, when it still used to close at 2 am, the doors would get locked after 2 and the first “rempetiko”-groups would start playing. In general it has always been a meeting point for artists, musicians etc. Although it was the first bar to open in Exarchia, it moved at 11, Ogygou St. in Psyrri, when the former building on Emmanouil Benaki & Arachovis St. collapsed.
