So… Recently, me and my wife were on holiday to Tunesia… After being bothered for the millionth time with shitty dance music, we wondered how nice it would be to be able to just visit a website, click on a map, and see the Heavy Metal Landmarks nearby.
Like in London, you can visit the Crobar… In Vegas (and NY), there’s the Double Down Saloon… There most likely also ARE heavy bars, hotels (Hamburg has a nice one I believe, but I forgot it’s name – update below!) or maybe even resorts in Tunesia, Spain, Turkye, Aruba, Florida, France, Texas, hopefully everywhere. So, we registered this domain, and are planning to put up a rate&review site with the Metal Factor of an area, city, resort, bar, whatever.
Only problem is; I only (really) know how to work with WordPress. So, we’re looking for people who want to help make this website everything it could be. A community, where everybody can participate to make sure we have information that is up to date and accurate.

Oh, and for the record, we only chose the name Heavy Metal Holidays since “Heavy Metal” is the most common denominator for loud music. It’s all about Punk, Rock, Death, Hardcore, Punkrock, Black, Psychobilly, Industrial, Goth, whatever, as long as it isn’t another PUMP UP THE JAM remix!

A friend brought http://www.metaltravelguide.com/mtg/ to our attention, looks like a site that was doing about the same as we were planning.
Will contact them soon, since it looks like they’re not really active and we’re also planning to bring “regular” resorts under the attention; for instance, if you visit Resort X in Llorett de Mar (Spain), the resort get’s a metal factor 2 for the bar where they play Led Zep, and the area gets metal factor 3 since there’s also a punk/metal bar nearby the resort… etc.
