What’s this all about?
This site is built with the purpose of creating a worldmap of locations that are interesting to people like you and me, who like loud music. The name “Heavy Metal Holidays” is chosen because it’s the most common denominator for loud music.
This site is out to map ALL louder genres; including punk, hardcore, metal, indie, alternative, psychobilly and whatever else is loud.
Imagine going on a holiday to Spain, or touring Germany, and being able to easily look up (and even be able to plan a route to) the interesting bars, venues, record stores, landmarks and festivals where they play the music YOU like!
We will need your help to make this work; start adding interesting spots and reacting on the spots you visited already, so everybody will be able to look up accurate information!
Our aim is to map all interesting spots, including bars, concert halls, record stores, hotels, hell, even pizza joints that play Deep Purple.
You can register yourself, but it is not necessary to add locations.
Here’s how we got the idea for this website
So, currently we’re figuring out the Google Maps thingy; it already works, but will need some tweaking. We’re also thinking about how to enhance and improve the layout for this website, other elements that should be included (how cool would it be to be able to link facebook accounts to HMH.com, for instance?), a mobile platform, or even an app (found some people who can and will help with an app already!).
We’re pretty sure we won’t be able to fix this all ourselves, since modding WordPress is about as far as it goes (in my case), so if you’d like to participate, let us know!
